Overview

Handicrafts are a big part of what makes the Indian home decor market grow and make money. Millions of people work in India's handicraft industry.

These people are having a hard time because the market for traditional handicrafts is shrinking. To meet this urgent need, the government of India set up the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, a non-profit organization.

The goal of this council is to make India's handicraft exports more competitive by promoting, preserving, protecting, and growing them. Members of the council have access to helpful information that can be used to improve and grow exports.

What EPCH is used for (the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts)

 1. Participating in international trade fairs that are designed to promote handicrafts

 2. Keeps in touch with the government's exporting committee and other national, state, and local agencies that are involved.

 3. Set up business events in interesting places all over the country.

 4. Increases brand recognition through iterative design, seminars, an open house, and a forum for buyers and sellers.

 5. Members who have EPCH registration should be able to get advice from experts on things like improving technology,  making new products, and improving quality and design.

 6. Plans international trips for people who make decisions so they can look into possible markets for trade growth.

 7. It helps bring down the taxes on exporting handicrafts.

How does EPCH registration work?

The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) was set up so that the country could sell more handicrafts abroad. The council gives exporters the infrastructure, marketing and promotion, and incentives they need to meet international standards and meet the demand for high-quality handicrafts.

The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a group that artists can join if they want to grow their business, make it easier to export their products, and meet other requirements. So, becoming a member of EPCH is called EPCH registration. After completing the EPCH registration process successfully, you will get a RCMC (Registration and Membership Certificate).

Even if a person, Hindu undivided family, firm, AOP, joint-stock company, other corporation, or cooperative society has never exported before, they can still get EPCH registration and export handicrafts.

The advantages of registering with EPCH

 1. EPCH gives its members the knowledge and skills they need to expand their exports to more profitable markets abroad.

 2. The Council gives advice to its members who have EPCH registration on a wide range of topics, such as new technologies, the quality standards that countries that buy from them want, the specifications of products, and marketing.

 3. It sets up delegation meetings where members with EPCH registration can meet with foreign clients in person to talk about possible business deals. It runs the Indian Handicrafts Fair and makes it easier for exporters to take part in international handicraft and gift trade shows.

 4. EPCH helps exporters and policymakers talk to each other about their problems.

 5. The council regularly holds workshops and seminars to help the local community and micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) get ready to export to markets around the world.

 6. EPCH keeps an eye on market trends and makes reports on the export of handicrafts.
